rgrdghfdrh vidk i just need to rant this is really annoying
why do people make such a big deal when someone isn't straight? like seriously why is coming out to people such a big deal? your sexuality shouldn't be a massive deal. and why is everyone presumed straight until they say they're not?
no one should be put under the massive amounts of stress and fear of having to tell their friends and family that they love someone who's the same gender as them. no one deserves to be ridiculed, or attacked, or hurt in anyway because they love someone, it's sick.
so why do people make such a big deal out of it? you don't see people being attacked on the street because they have green eyes, or because their star sign is a scorpio, so why because they're anything but straight?

the only difference of course being that, here in vegas, at least the part where i live, most people are LGBT, so i guess its more accepted here. I personally dont care what sex someone is, because i believe if you love someone, you love the person, and NOT the gender, so it shouldnt matter anyways. love is love.
If you know what I mean ;D
but honestly it still scares me because I don't know whether I'm straight or bisexual ;n; shhhhhh...
bleh it's okay i think lots of people have been through that as well, take your time to find yourself ;u;
Personally, I'm Pansexual. I don't even think about gender or anything like that when I'm considering a potential partner. I like who I like for who they are, and that's it. I realize a lot of straight, gay, and bisexual people are like this too, but yeah. I don't care if someone is male, female, or even in between genders. Don't care about race either. I see everyone as equals. People are just people, and that's the bottom line.
When I was younger, I never really thought to hide it that much, but I admit it was kind of funny seeing some of my family react to it when they found out. But I mean... I guess it just never occurred to me to hide the way I am from people. (So I totally agree with what you said about straight people not having to "come out" to anyone, so why should people of different sexuality?) If they didn't like it, well that was too bad. Some people did try to attack me for it before, but... Well I'm almost 6 feet tall (5'11" really) and know how to throw my weight around when I need to.
For a long time, I was a completely quiet and shy little doormat, but I got sick of the way people treated me, so I changed. I also try to stick up for others and help them out when I see it happening to them. People who get getting pushed around or beaten up for their sexuality... It's SO wrong! And should not be a big deal at all. But it makes me even more thankful for all of the people out there who are supportive and understanding and don't make a big deal over it.
aha, what did you do to the people that tried attacking you if you don't mind me asking? o:
It's a cruel world out there. Those are two of the more extreme cases, but yeah. Calling the police can help most of the time, but sometimes they do nothing about it. (I've had one show up and say it was "Jerry Springer shit", should have gotten her badge number and had her fired probably, but I didn't think about it at the time.) It's best to handle things in a way that is legal, if at all possible.
Another time when I was threatened with guns by a group of teens, and I got sick of living my life in fear all the time. They threatened me a lot when they found out my sexuality, they would stand in the shadows near my house and say lewd things. When they pulled guns and started shooting at my house, I chased them down the street with my car very angrily, but of course I was very careful to deliberately avoid actually hitting anyone with it.
At school one of my friends got picked on, and I put the people responsible in their place as well. I try not to start things with people, but some people deliberately try to pick fights. And I am willing to finish them, if I need to. I live in a bad neighborhood, so... Yeah. You have to do what you have to do sometimes. It's been years since I've had a serious problem with anyone, luckily...
